Love in the Time of True Blue

Inspired by the psychological questionnaire “36 Questions to Fall in Love,” this participatory project invites strangers to engage in a guided intimacy exercise followed by a synchronized morning calisthenics routine. The physical activity is based on a Chinese radio broadcast connected to the artist’s grandmother, who was involved in its development. Originally designed by a U.S. insurance company to promote healthy lifestyles for financial gain, the exercise becomes a strange yet tender conclusion to an experiment in trust and vulnerability. Through this speculative fiction, the work reimagines how we construct relationships, revealing unexpected connections between personal memory, social rituals, and the commodification of care.
