Thermal Chickens
2020
Digital print on coro-last and wood stand
Dimension variable
(Approximately 5’ x 3’ for each chicken)
Photographs of chickens captured with thermal imaging are enlarged and transformed into life-sized cardboard cut-outs. By shifting the scale, the images lose their original clarity and begin to resemble abstract weather maps. This visual distortion gestures toward the blurred boundaries between body, data, and landscape, evoking concerns around climate change, environmental surveillance, and the precarity of life in a warming world.
